GE Refrigerator Water Dispenser Too Slow?

GE Water Filter MWFIf your GE fridge is dispensing water too slowly (i.e. no pressure) then you might want to recall the last time you changed your water filter. The manufacturer recommends changing it every 6 months but realistically I get around to it every year or two.  The filters tend to get clogged up with debris slowly, over time so it is difficult to notice until it seems to take forever to fill your cups. You’ll notice the water will flow much faster once you change your filter – it is almost list a new fridge!

Of course it is also good to replace your filter regularly so it cleans the water a bit better. GE’s NSF-certified MWF replacement refrigerator water filter reduced contaminants like mercury, toxaphene, p-dichlorobenzene, carbofuran, alachlor, benzene, lead, cryptosporidium, giardia as wel as pharmaceuticals including ibuprofen, progesterone, atenolol, trimethoprim, and fluoxetine.

The installation is simple.  Just unscrew the old filter and pull down then push the new filter on and screw it on. I suggest you pick up a 2 or 3 pack so you’ll have them on hand for the next few water filter changes.

You can purchase the new water filters from amazon for about $40.

Even when I change out the water filter the water still runs slow. Seems like the water line is really long so I was wondering if that could be a problem.
